The Challenge
Zia Learning provided consulting and development services to help relaunch virtual learning across the state of Illinois. In 2022, Illinois Virtual Schools announced its closure after 20 years of service. This left Illinois without a state option for online learning. Districts and schools across the state were unable to offer critical courses, services, and options to their students.
Our Work
Zia provided consulting, grant writing, and program development services to re-launch and expand IVS as the new Illinois Virtual Schools and Academy.
The Results
Illinois Virtual Schools and Academy is fully operational and has expanded its services and course offerings. Students across the state now have access to both full-time and supplemental online education services, and districts have a state-supported option to meet teacher shortages and ensure students have access to virtual learning options.
